I am thrilled to share that I have received the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) career award under the Chercheuses-boursières J1 – Santé-Société Research career award program. The School of Optometry at the Université de Montréal announced the award; its announcement is in French.
My funded research program — Advancing sustainable change in braille literacy, accessibility and social participation for people who are blind or low vision (Promouvoir un changement durable en matière de littératie braille, d'accessibilité et de participation sociale des personnes aveugles ou ayant une basse vision) — is carried out in collaboration with partners including the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille and the Centre de réadaptation Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay. It places the experiential knowledge of people who are blind or have low vision at the centre of the work.
My sincere thanks to the FRQ for this recognition. I look forward to continuing to build research that is grounded in collaboration and aimed at concrete results.
